FIDES-CARITAS INFO POWER ENT. formerly known as Fides A1 Communications and Fides-Caritas Communications was established on the 4th of August, 2008 as an arm of the Social Communication Department of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo. Commissioned by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Most Revd. Dr Julius Babatunde Adelakun (now Bishop emeritus of Oyo Diocese). The enterprise was founded to handle the technical aspects of communication, as well as to train youths in schools and parishes in the area of ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Since its inception, FIDES has been instrumental in pioneering ICT education in Oyo town and its environs, setting the pace for the government’s later adoption of ICT in schools. FIDES-CARITAS INFO POWER ENT. has trained teachers, pastoral workers and students to be ICT-compliant from the primary school level, while also providing services such as computer repairs, internet services via its cybercafé, web design, bulk SMS platforms, and wireless internet services to the churches, schools, hotels and banks. Over time as technology need evolved, FIDES, empowered by the Bishop, Most Revd. Dr Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo, expanded its focus to include renewable energy solutions. Today, FIDES-CARITAS INFO POWER ENTERPRISE is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions in Oyo state, partnering with global companies in Nigeria, China and India to deliver affordable, high-quality energy products.
